# Home

Home is the workspace desk. The header says Home. After [sign-in](/v2/capabilities/get-started/sign-in) Nexus still opens on Chat; Home is the dock section for shortcuts into apps and files on this workspace.

*Home. Chat and Files are on the desk; apps this workspace turns on appear next to them.*

## Desk icons

The desk lists what this workspace can open from Home:

- **Chat**, when the `chat` feature is on. Opens the same section as the Chat dock row. See [Chat](/v2/capabilities/platform/chat).
- **Files**, when the `files` feature is on.
- Each installed app that is enabled for this workspace. Turning apps on or off is [Workspace settings](/v2/capabilities/platform/workspace-settings), on Apps.
- **Starred files**, when this workspace has any.

The background is the workspace wallpaper. An owner or admin can change it from the desk. With no wallpaper, the desk uses a tint of the workspace accent color. The **File** menu lists the same destinations as the icons.

Repo, Branch, and Code workspace stay empty on Home. Those footer labels belong to the [code workspace](/v2/capabilities/platform/code-workspaces), not the business workspace in the dock mark. Full dock layout is [Orientation and navigation](/v2/capabilities/get-started/orientation).
