question: Which terms apply when I use ABI or a Naas service?

# Terms and conditions

Which document governs depends on what you use. The linked documents are the terms; this page only says which one applies.

## The ABI software

ABI is released under the [MIT license](https://github.com/jupyter-naas/abi/blob/main/LICENSE). When you install and run ABI yourself, that license is the whole agreement: there is no account with Naas, no signup page, and no license key. The license lets you use, copy, modify, and distribute ABI, and it comes with no warranty.

Modules from the marketplace, and the packages ABI installs, are governed by their own licenses.

## Model providers and other services

A project calls the model providers and services you configure, with your own keys: OpenRouter, a cloud model provider, an SMTP server. Each one's terms and data policy apply to what you send it. With local models (Ollama), no prompt leaves your network.

## Naas services

When Naas runs software for you, the Naas documents apply:

| Document | Covers | Contact |
|---|---|---|
| [Terms of Service](https://naas.ai/terms) | Use of the Naas services, accounts, fees, termination | [legal@naas.ai](mailto:legal@naas.ai) |
| [Privacy Policy](https://naas.ai/privacy) | What Naas collects and how it uses it, your rights | [privacy@naas.ai](mailto:privacy@naas.ai) |

Open-source components inside a Naas service, ABI included, stay under their own licenses. An enterprise deployment is governed by its agreement with Naas.
