# Open a code workspace

A **code workspace** is the Coder runtime behind the Code dock section. It is not the [business workspace](/capabilities/platform/business-workspaces) shown in the dock mark. The footer labels the runtime **Code workspace** and fills **Repo** and **Branch** when you are in Code or on Slides.

## Web UI

### Select Code in the dock

In the left dock, select **Code**. If the section is missing, your role may not have the `code` feature, or the project was created without `--with-coding`.

### Work in the editor

The page opens the Coder workspace tied to this Nexus workspace. The footer shows the Forgejo repository and branch for the open project.

On Chat, Maps, and Files the footer leaves Repo, Branch, and Code workspace empty. On Slides, Repo is `abi/monorepo` and the branch is `slides/<slug>`.

## CLI

Not applicable. Opening the in-browser editor is a Nexus action. Repository work from the terminal uses git against Forgejo or the local store described on [Repositories](/capabilities/platform/repositories).

## Python

Not applicable.

## REST API

Not applicable.

## Config
