# Modules

A module is the package this repository runs, not a workspace, and you create one from [Modules](/user-guide/build/modules/overview).

A remote module runs in its own process. An in-engine module is loaded by the engine and listed under `modules:` in `config.yaml`. Either one can hold agents, workflows, pipelines, integrations, ontologies, and apps.
