# Edit your profile

Profile stores your display name, email, organization label, job title, and bio (up to 2000 characters). The organization field is free text on the profile. It is not organization tenancy in Nexus.

## Web UI

### Open Account Settings

Open the account menu (your name at the bottom of the dock), then **Account Settings**. The route is `/account/profile`.

![Account Settings on Profile: picture, name, email, organization, job title, bio](/abi/Screenshot_Profile.png)

*Account Settings › Profile. The organization field is free text; it is not your organization in Nexus.*

### Update the fields

On **Profile**, edit the fields you need and save. Avatar upload accepts PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP up to 2 MB.

## CLI

Not applicable. Profile changes are not exposed as `abi` commands.

## Python

Not applicable.

## REST API

### Send a patch

With a Nexus access token from [Sign in to Nexus](/capabilities/get-started/sign-in?via=api):

```bash
curl -X PATCH http://localhost:9879/api/auth/me \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NEXUS_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"name": "Ada Lovelace", "job_title": "Analyst"}'
```

Avatar upload uses `POST /api/auth/upload-avatar`; remove it with `DELETE /api/auth/avatar`.

## Config

Not applicable. Profile data lives in the Nexus database, not in `config.yaml`.
