# Business workspaces

A business workspace is the Nexus collaboration space: people, chat, files, apps, and the knowledge graph, under an organization. In the UI, Workspace means this. The [code workspace](/user-guide/platform/code-workspaces) is a different object.

Roles in the feature policy are `owner`, `admin`, `member`, and `viewer`. The CLI invites someone into a workspace as `admin`, `member`, or `viewer`.

A generated project seeds one workspace owned by `admin@example.com`: Default (slug `default`) under `abi dev up`, ABI (slug `abi`) on the Docker stack. To add one, see [Create a workspace](/user-guide/platform/create-a-workspace). You switch workspaces from the dock mark. See [Orientation and navigation](/user-guide/get-started/orientation).

*The dock mark opens the workspace list, grouped by the workspace's group. SpaceX is selected; Others is folded.*

What people share there is the work in those sections: files, datasets, documents, sheets, slides, apps, and the graph. A module can also serve static files from `assets/public`. The API mounts that directory at `/modules/<module path>/assets/public`. That folder is not a workspace.

Settings for this workspace are [Workspace settings](/user-guide/platform/workspace-settings).
