question: What does each Nexus dock section open?
kind: guide

# Orientation and navigation

Nexus is the web UI. After you [sign in](/user-guide/get-started/sign-in) you are in one business workspace. The URL looks like `/workspace/{id}/chat`.

The mark at the top of the left dock is that workspace. Select it to open the Workspaces list and switch. A project from `abi new project` names this workspace Default under `abi dev up`, and ABI on the Docker stack.

## The dock

Select a section to open it. Most sections also open a column of that section's contents. Sections your role cannot use are hidden. The policy is `nexus_config.feature_flags` (`enabled_features` and `role_baseline`). Defaults are on [Organization settings](/user-guide/platform/organization-and-members).

*Chat after sign-in. The dock is the column on the left. On Chat, Repo, Branch, and Code workspace stay empty.*

| Section | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Home | The workspace desk: Chat and Files shortcuts when those features are on, installed apps, and starred files. |
| Search | Topics, workspace features, and optional web sources. See [Search](/capabilities/platform/search). |
| Apps | Installed and available apps. |
| Files | Workspace files. |
| Chat | Conversations with Abi and your team. |
| Maps | Geographic and network maps. |
| Ontology | Ontology classes and relations. |
| Knowledge Graph | The knowledge graph. |
| Datasets | Structured datasets. |
| Slides | Presentation decks. |
| Documents | Rich documents. |
| Sheets | Spreadsheets (HTML source, export to XLSX). |
| Code | The editor and repositories. Off unless the project was created with `--with-coding`, which enables the `code` feature for owners and admins on the Docker stack (`config.local.yaml`). |
| Marketplace | Discover and install new apps. |
| Events | Recent platform activity. Super admins only. |
| System | Kernel services, modules, jobs, agents, and NATS. Super admins only. See [Observability](/developer-guide/architecture/observability). |
| Infrastructure | ABI layers, components, and dependencies. Same people as Settings. |
| Settings | Workspace settings. Workspace owners and admins, from their role: the Roles matrix does not hide it. Last in the dock. |

When the list is taller than the dock, the rest sits under More. Drag a section to reorder the dock.

## The footer

The footer names Repo, Branch, and Code workspace. On Chat, Maps, and Files those stay empty. On Code (and the `/ide` pages) they show the Forgejo repository, the branch, and the Coder runtime. On Slides, Repo is `abi/monorepo` and the branch is `slides/<slug>`. Saved or Unsaved changes appears when a deck or open code files can be dirty. Refresh and an API indicator sit on the right. Its tooltip says whether the API is connected or unreachable.

Code workspace is the Coder runtime. The Nexus space in the dock mark is the [business workspace](/user-guide/platform/business-workspaces). The runtime is [Code workspaces](/user-guide/platform/code-workspaces).
