question: Where do I find starter code for a new project?

# Start with examples

There is no separate tutorial app. These are the copies that already ship.

## Featured how-tos

These tutorials live under Capabilities.

- [Create an agent](/capabilities/build/agents/creating-an-agent)
- [Create a module](/capabilities/build/modules/creating-a-module)
- [Create an ontology](/capabilities/build/knowledge-graph/creating-an-ontology)
- [Create a workflow](/capabilities/build/agents/creating-a-workflow)
- [Create an app](/capabilities/build/apps/create-an-app)
- [Create a pipeline](/capabilities/build/knowledge-graph/creating-a-pipeline)
- [Create an integration](/capabilities/build/agents/creating-an-integration)

## The project the Quickstart creates

[`abi new project`](/user-guide/get-started/quickstart) writes a runnable project. [`abi new module`](/user-guide/build/modules/creating-a-module) writes a module with a starter agent, and, for an in-engine module, a starter integration, pipeline, workflow, and ontology. That scaffold is the first example. Run the tests it came with (`uv run pytest` from the project).

## Marketplace modules

The marketplace is the `naas-abi-marketplace` package: AI providers, application integrations, and domain modules. A new project already enables OpenRouter. To turn another module on, install its extra and list it under `modules:`. See [Marketplace](/user-guide/build/modules/marketplace/marketplace-overview) and [Installing from the Marketplace](/user-guide/build/modules/marketplace/marketplace-install).

## Reference code in the repository

`naas_abi_marketplace/__demo__` holds reference agents, workflows, and apps to copy. The Quickstart does not enable that tree. Browse it in the [ABI repository](https://github.com/jupyter-naas/abi/tree/main/libs/naas-abi-marketplace/naas_abi_marketplace/__demo__).

`examples/standalone_module` is a check of the remote SDK against a real engine (`make demo` from that directory, with the repository's uv environment and `nats-server` on `PATH`). It is not a product walkthrough. The pointer, and what the SDK may import, is on [SDK and proto internals](/developer-guide/sdk-and-proto). The directory is in the [repository](https://github.com/jupyter-naas/abi/tree/main/examples/standalone_module).
